26. Growing Deeper

“When you were dead in Your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature,
God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins,”
Colossians 2:13

Jesus, how many times can I thank You for being our sacrifice? The Righteous for the unrighteous, the Holy One for sinful me, The Son of God for mere men. What is man that You are mindful of him (Psalm 8:4)? That You consider my ways and take time to guide me in paths of righteousness? How great You are O God, showing love to a thousand generations of those who love You and keep Your commandments (Exodus 20:6). Jesus, I know there are sins in my life that are unknown to me, sins I have committed against You unknowingly. And once again I sit in awe of how massive Your grace truly is; forgiving what is presently unknown to me. Ignorance is bliss, the simple man said, but I do not wish to be ignorant in my relationship with You, neither do I wish to be ignorant of You my God. But to know You intimately, deeper than I could possibly imagine; that is my desire. To know The Personal God personally is one of the true great mysteries of the universe. But the process by which we come to know You is not mysterious at all. You are revealed in Your word to us O Lord, and it is Your Spirit dwelling in us that makes it all possible. I know much, and much I am satisfied with knowing, but in regards to the depth by which I know You, truly I am unsatisfied. My soul longs to be closer to it's Maker; closer to You Jesus. I turn to you “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well” (psalm 139:13-14). Therefore I pray that You remove from me my secret faults, the slow waters that carve this cavern between us, reveal such iniquities that I am blind to, remove them, and draw close to me once more. To imitate You here on earth would be soundness to my soul, train me in Your ways O Lord, for I long to be Your servant.
“Search me, O God, and know my heart;
Try me, and know my anxieties;
And see if there is any wicked way in me,
And lead me in the way everlasting.”
Psalm 139:23-24
